Welcome, parents, students, and families! This site will be a great resource for students. I will post homework assignments, copies of the homework, links to helpful sites/videos, and copies of in class papers (just in case you have lost them - I cannot print seconds!). You can also go to the "contact" tab if you would like a quick way to send me a message. The best way to contact me is through email.
Ms. Bishop's Channel
I have created a youtube channel to keep all of my videos in one place. While I will use pre-existing videos at time during class/for extra help, I will also create my own videos. All videos created by me will be located on my youtube channel. Search/click here: Erin Bishop _ Staff - DanielsMS.
Desmos Graphing Calculator (There is an app for this!)
Downloadable Graphing Calculator
Directions for downloading calc from Texas Instruments
I am still searching for a downloadable graphing calculator for mac/apple products. Please let me know if you find any that are helpful. Thanks!
Grading Policy
There are three primary categories for grades.
Homework - 10%
Minor Assessments (exit tickets, quizzes, smaller items) - 30%
Major Assessments (tests, large quizzes, projects) - 60%
Homework will be graded based on completion and out of 10 points.
10 points - evidence that student attempted each problem with 100% effort or wrote down any questions
8 points - assignment is late (but effort is shown)
0 points - student does not turn in assignment within five days of due date
Test/Quizzes
All math 8/math I teachers work together to create rubrics for all assessments, which are given in all math 8/math I classes. This way, grading is consistent across the 8th grade. Typically, problems are graded on a scale of 1-5, then the problems are averaged.
